The grandMA3 Compact is a scaled-down member of MA Lighting’s flagship console family, built to retain full grandMA3 software power in a more portable form. It comes with 8,192 control parameters by default, and can be expanded via processing units to handle up to 250,000 parameters. It features a single internal foldable multi-touch monitor (with support for external monitors), a control layout mirroring the larger versions (dual encoders, motorized faders, playback section) and connectivity for DMX, Ethernet, MIDI, LTC, and more.
In ergonomics and workflow, the Compact model preserves the command interface and design philosophy of full-size grandMA3 consoles. It includes 40 physical playbacks, 16 assignable x-keys, RGB backlit encoders, and motorized faders with color indication. The software retains full backward compatibility with grandMA2 runs (in Mode2) and supports GDTF/MVR fixture formats, allowing smooth migration of existing showfiles.
Its appeal lies in combining portability with high-end control. At 16 kg and a modest footprint with the monitor folded, it suits mobile setups, small venues, and tech-desk duties where space or transport is constrained.
Despite its small size, it delivers the full suite of grandMA3 features — making it a serious console rather than a “lite” variant.
