Elation Rayzor Q7

The Rayzor Q7 is a compact yet high-output moving head beam from Elation, built for DJs, clubs, and touring installers who want sharp, saturated beams without the weight and heat of a 1K lamp fixture. At its core are seven 15W Osram quad-color RGBW LEDs, giving true additive color mixing, pure white for punchy beams, and a 100,000-hour rated light source that keeps maintenance costs near zero compared to traditional lamp-based movers.

The optical system is where the Rayzor Q7 earns its name. A 7-degree beam angle lens produces a tight, well-defined beam that holds its shape across long throws, with a 13-degree field angle for softer, broader coverage when needed. Measured output reaches 1,743 lux at 7.5 meters, which is more than enough to cut through haze in mid-size rooms, dance floors, and club mainstages.

Movement is driven by Elation’s high-speed 3-phase motor technology, giving the fixture fast, precise, and quiet pan and tilt. That combination of speed and smoothness makes the Q7 ideal for sharp beam sweeps, fast strobing effects, and tight group patterns, while staying silent enough for quiet venues and recorded content.

Control is flexible: the fixture offers 15, 17, and 29 DMX channel modes, a 5-pin DMX in/out for easy daisy-chaining, and a full suite of built-in programs, including 8 macros and 4-zone chase effects across the LED array. An electronic strobe runs from 1 to 18 fps, and dimming goes smoothly from 0 to 100 percent. The entire fixture is flicker-free, which matters a lot for TV, film, and live streaming work where standard lighting causes banding on cameras.

Physically, the Elation Rayzor Q7 is compact and relatively light for what it does, with integrated steel mounting points for truss or yoke use and a simple, robust housing that stands up to regular touring. Power draw and heat are low thanks to the LED engine, so it fits easily into compact rigging, short runs, and venues with limited power budgets.
