The JBL VTX A8 is a compact dual 8″ line array loudspeaker designed to deliver exceptional performance and coverage in small to mid-sized applications. It belongs to JBL’s acclaimed VTX A Series, known for offering premium sound quality, power efficiency, and rigging flexibility. The A8 incorporates JBL’s latest generation transducer and waveguide technologies in a lightweight, durable enclosure that is equally at home in touring systems and fixed installations.
The VTX A8 is equipped with two 8” low-frequency woofers, four 3.5” midrange drivers, and two 2” high-frequency drivers. This three-way design allows for precise sound reproduction and balanced frequency response across a wide spectrum. The speaker offers a frequency range of 49 Hz – 19 kHz (-10 dB), with a wide horizontal coverage of 110°, providing even sound dispersion over a broad listening area.
Its peak SPL reaches up to 139 dB, ensuring powerful output even in demanding environments. The LF section handles 600W continuous power, while the MF/HF section supports 390W continuous power, with both sections operating at 8 ohms impedance. The VTX A8’s enclosure is built from Finnish birch plywood, finished in rugged black DuraFlex paint, and features IP55-rated weather resistance, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Rigging is streamlined through JBL’s integral suspension system, which supports fast and secure array configurations. Each unit measures approximately 226.6 x 761.3 x 375.2 mm (H x W x D) and weighs 29.5 kg, making it compact and easy to handle during setup and breakdown.
