Robe BMFL Blade

The Robe BMFL Blade is a high-output, discharge-lamp moving head designed to serve both aerial effects and precision profile lighting in demanding live productions, concerts, corporate events, and theatrical environments. It uses a 1700 W Osram short-arc metal halide lamp to generate an exceptionally bright beam — with total luminous output up to around 40,000 lumens and intense illuminance at distance — making it capable of cutting through large venues with authority. The fixture combines this raw power with smooth, linear colour mixing using CMY plus variable CTO control and a broad zoom range, giving lighting designers a flexible tool for shaping mood and focus in diverse scenarios.

A defining strength of the BMFL Blade is its advanced framing and effects system, which sets it apart from simpler profile fixtures. Four independently movable shutter blades sit inside a frame that can rotate up to 90°, allowing designers to crop or mask the beam on surfaces with sharp precision — from tight shapes to soft edge washes — and even create dynamic in-air patterns. This is complemented by two gobo wheels (rotating and static), an animation wheel, prisms, variable frost filters, and strobe/iris effects that together support intricate visuals and layered looks in both front-of-house and atmospheric beam work.
