The d&b audiotechnik Y-Series is a versatile line of loudspeakers designed for small to medium-sized sound reinforcement applications, blending both point source and line array technologies. Introduced as a flexible solution, the Y-Series includes models like the Y7P and Y10P point source loudspeakers, which feature two 8-inch drivers in a dipole arrangement paired with a 1.4-inch compression driver on a rotatable constant directivity (CD) horn. These offer horizontal dispersion angles of 75° and 110°, respectively, with control down to 500 Hz, making them ideal for standalone use or integration into larger setups, whether ground-stacked or flown. Complementing these are the Y8 and Y12 line array modules, which share similar driver configurations but provide 80° and 120° dispersion options, respectively, and can be arrayed in columns of up to 24 units with precise splay angles for tailored coverage.

At the low end, the Y-Series includes the B6-SUB and Y-SUB, enhancing its adaptability across various environments. The B6-SUB, an omnidirectional subwoofer with an 18-inch driver, extends the frequency response down to 37 Hz, while the Y-SUB, a cardioid subwoofer, uses an 18-inch driver facing forward and a 12-inch driver radiating rearward to minimize unwanted energy behind the system, delivering precise bass reproduction. Both subwoofers are built for flexibility, with the Y-SUB featuring three-point rigging for flown or stacked configurations alongside Y8/Y12 arrays. Constructed from durable marine plywood with a weather-resistant Polyurea Cabinet Protection (PCP) finish, the Y-Series is engineered for reliability in mobile and installed applications, from concerts and conferences to worship spaces and theaters.

The d&b audiotechnik Y-Series integrates seamlessly into d&b’s ecosystem, leveraging tools like ArrayCalc simulation software for system planning and R1 Remote control software for operation, paired with d&b amplifiers such as the D80 or 30D. This holistic approach ensures consistent performance and ease of use, with the Yi variants tailored specifically for permanent installations differing only in mounting hardware and cabinet finish.
