GrandMA2 Light

The MA Lighting grandMA2 Light is a compact version of the grandMA2 Full Size console, offering powerful lighting control in a more portable and streamlined form. Designed for medium to large productions, the grandMA2 Light retains most of the core features and capabilities of its larger counterpart, making it a popular choice for tours, festivals, theatrical productions, and corporate events where space and mobility are important. Despite being smaller in size, it provides ample control options and maintains the same high-quality functionality associated with the grandMA2 series.

The grandMA2 Light console comes equipped with two built-in 15.4-inch color multi-touchscreens, allowing for intuitive navigation and control of the software interface. It also supports the connection of two additional external monitors to expand the workspace for larger projects. The physical layout of the console includes 15 motorized faders and 20 rotary encoders, which provide tactile control over various parameters such as intensity, color, and effects. With 6,144 DMX channels available out of the box, the grandMA2 Light can handle a substantial number of fixtures, and this capacity can be expanded using MA NPUs (Network Processing Units) to control up to 65,536 channels.

One of the key advantages of the grandMA2 Light is its versatility and scalability. While smaller than the full-size version, it can easily integrate into larger systems through MA-Net2, allowing for networked control of lighting and media servers across multiple consoles and devices. This makes it an ideal solution for productions that require a balance between portability and the ability to scale up when necessary. The grandMA2 Light also supports multiple protocols, including Art-Net, sACN, and MIDI, for seamless integration with other systems like video servers and automated scenic elements.

The grandMA2 Light operates with the same grandMA2 software as the full-size console, providing access to a wide array of advanced features for lighting design and programming. This includes sophisticated cue management, real-time effects generation, and timecode synchronization, which are essential for coordinating complex lighting changes during performances. The console also allows for 3D visualization of lighting designs, making it easier to program shows in pre-production. Additionally, the grandMA2 software supports multi-user operation, meaning several operators can work on different aspects of the show simultaneously.
