DiGiCo Quantum 225

The DiGiCo Quantum 225 is a compact 72 channel digital mixing console that packs the full processing power of DiGiCo’s Quantum platform into a space saving format. Designed for touring, house, and live applications, the unit pairs the platform’s proven reliability with a modern control surface, so it scales from small stages to mid size venues without compromise. The Quantum 225 handles 72 input channels with full processing, 36 aux/sub group busses, and a 12 x 12 matrix, all running at the platform’s native 96kHz sample rate on seventh generation FPGA architecture for clean, low latency mixes even on busy shows. Like its larger Quantum 338 sibling, the 225 is capable of redundant mirroring with a second Quantum 225, giving operators true hot standby redundancy for touring, broadcast, or installed systems where downtime is not an option.

Up front, the console features 25 touch sensitive, motorised 100mm faders that move with precise haptic feedback and can be mapped to any channel through the assignable channel layout. A 17 inch high brightness, high resolution touchscreen anchors the surface, while 41 full colour TFT channel displays keep every parameter in view without deep menu diving. User programmable macros let each engineer tailor the surface to their own workflow, and DiGiCo’s True Solo function provides clean, isolated monitoring at the console’s headphone outputs in both 1/4 inch and 3.5mm formats. The system also supports iPad control and offline software, so scenes and presets can be prepared off the floor and loaded in seconds. A mounting bracket on the left worksurface allows customisation of the layout to suit any installation.

DiGiCo Quantum 225 rear I/O is robust, with 8 XLR mic/line inputs and 8 XLR line outputs built in, plus 4 channel AES/EBU inputs and outputs on XLR. The console includes an integrated UB MADI USB Type B interface for up to 48 channels of direct recording and playback to a computer, and 4 MADI BNC interfaces providing full bandwidth expansion, with 2 dedicated interfaces at 96kHz. Two DMI slots accept compatible expansion cards including Dante, Hydra 2, MADI, AES, ADC/DAC, and Waves SoundGrid, allowing the console to grow with any venue or rig at up to 64 I/O per slot. Optional Optocore in single mode, dual loop, or ST configuration adds long distance optical connectivity, and a Waves SoundGrid interface option is available for live processing. Powered by redundant PSUs as standard, the Quantum 225 also carries 4 switched Ethernet ports, 2 GPI and 2 GPO jacks, MIDI, word clock, and dual DisplayPort outputs for external monitoring.
