DiGiCo SD11i Console

The DiGiCo SD11i console is the most compact console in the SD range, yet it delivers the same flagship-grade audio engine as DiGiCo’s largest desks. Built around Stealth Core 2 and seventh-generation floating-point Super FPGA technology, the SD11i packs a full 80 input channels at 48kHz or 96kHz into a 19-inch rack-mount or tabletop footprint small enough to travel in the back seat of a car. That makes it the highest channel count per rack space of any high-performance console available today. The steel chassis with a polycarbonate-overlaid aluminium worksurface houses a 15-inch high-resolution TFT LCD touchscreen and 12 touch-sensitive, motorised 100mm faders, giving engineers a genuinely tactile, road-ready control surface that’s as durable as it is agile.

Under the hood, the DiGiCo SD11i console is a full-featured mixing platform, not a stripped-down compact. Every input and output channel carries the complete DiGiCo signal path: channel delay, single and multi-channel presets, 24dB/octave hi- and lo-pass filters, four-band parametric EQ with band curve selection, dual insert points, and both DYN 1 (compressor, de-esser, or multiband compressor) and DYN 2 (gate, compressor, or ducker) processors. On top of that, 115 Dynamic EQ processors and 115 Multiband Compressors are assignable to any input or output channel, delivering the same depth of dynamic processing found on the flagship consoles. The master section offers 12 gangable 32-band graphic EQs, eight stereo effects processors drawn from a palette of 33, and eight VCA-style control groups, while 24 busses assignable as mono/stereo groups or auxiliaries, a 12×8 full-processing output matrix, dual solo busses, and a Master buss (LR or LCR) provide deep, flexible routing for any live or installed application.

The SD11i’s I/O punches far above its weight. Local connections include 16 mic/line inputs, eight line outputs, two mono AES/EBU ports, and a MADI I/O port, alongside a dedicated D-Rack port that expands the system to a further 32 inputs and eight or 16 outputs. A factory-fit Optocore option allows redundant-loop connectivity to all DiGiCo racks and consoles, and the optional DiGiCo SoundGrid module adds 32 fully integrated, low-latency Waves stereo MultiRacks—each supporting up to eight plug-ins—for a total of 128 additional I/O. With a typical processing delay of just 2ms at 48kHz (1.1ms at 96kHz), THD below 0.05%, channel separation better than 90dB, and a microphone input noise floor better than -126dB equivalent, the SD11i is the little console with the big heart: a compact, touring-friendly desk that scales from intimate gigs to large productions without compromise.
