Yamaha PM5DRH Console

The Yamaha PM5D-RH is a high-end digital mixing console designed for professional live sound reinforcement and large-scale installations. It’s part of Yamaha’s PM5D family and features 48 mono input channels with recallable high-quality preamps, plus four stereo line inputs, allowing plenty of flexibility for complex front-of-house setups. Its architecture supports 24 mix buses, multiple stereo outputs, and matrix routing, giving engineers comprehensive control over signal flow and mix structure without the need for racks of outboard gear.

Under the hood, the PM5D-RH runs Yamaha’s custom DSP7 processing at up to 96 kHz/32-bit, delivering detailed sound quality with low latency and high dynamic range. The console includes onboard effects (such as multi-effect processors and graphic EQs) and robust dynamics processing on every channel, which means engineers can handle gating, compression, delay, and EQ directly on the desk. It also supports recallable scenes and “virtual soundcheck” workflows — so settings and mixes can be saved, recalled, or tested using recorded multitrack sources.

Another strong point of the PM5D-RH is its expandability and integration. The console has multiple Mini-YGDAI expansion slots for adding additional I/O formats or networked audio interfaces, and it can be scaled into a much larger system when paired with Yamaha’s optional DSP5D or DCU5D units. This lets engineers tailor the system to everything from concert touring rigs to permanent theatre installations, combining powerful DSP capability with flexible input/output routing and high reliability.
